On Thursday 10th November, Jade & Fountain PRC Lawyers co-hosted the 'Invest London, Go UK' outbound investment summit, held in Shanghai. Sponsored by Deutsche Bank and CNUK and held at the Regal International East Asia Hotel, the event was attended by more than 200 entrepreneurs and representatives from successful Chinese enterprises. The Statutory Deputy Mayor of London, Richard Barnes, appeared as the primary guest speaker amongst various experts from industries including investment banking, law, and education; all giving invaluable insight into the many investment opportunities London presents. With a focus towards the upcoming London 2012 Olympic Games, respected individuals from organizations such as The British Chamber of Commerce Shanghai and London & Partners gave perceptive presentations focused on how to take advantage of the UK's capital markets to raise funds, how to co-operate with UK enterprises, as well as how to invest in, emigrate to, and receive education in the UK. This gave attending entrepreneurs a unique opportunity to further their understanding of different aspects of the UK's business and cultural environments. The success of the summit was echoed by the substantial media interest which surrounded it, with over twenty separate newspapers, online media companies, and TV channels covering the event.
