Dr. Scott Guan, being a leader in the Canada-China business community, was invited to, and attended, a private lunch with the Hon. Lawrence Cannon, Canada's Minister of Foreign Affairs, and a few other business and opinion leaders to discuss how to further strengthen Canada-China cooperation.
The lunch was held on 21st October 2010, at the Four Seasons Hotel in Shanghai, and the discussion focused on developing four industries in particular, as identified in Prime Minister Harper's and Premier Wen Jiaobao's Canada-China Joint Statement (December 2009), namely Health, the Environment & Clean Energy, Trade & Investment and Governance.
